Event Details

Where were you on October 4, 1957?  Noted Smithsonian Scholar and flight historian Tom Crouch was a 7th grader, and can tell you exactly where he was and what the launch of Sputnik meant to him and America.  This is the behind the scenes story of the birth of the space age.  After the lecture, which will be accompanied by student photograph and video exhibitions guests are invited to dine at Ristorante da Vinci and enjoy more intimate discussions on the Space Race and other flights of fancy.  Pre-set dinner menu prices include one drink ticket, tax and gratuities for $80 per person.

For dinner reservations following the presentation, call 562-432-5100, ext. 221 or 238.  We accept Visa or MasterCard.  Private room seats 60.

This event is free due to the generous support from the City of Long Beach and ACLB sponsors.  If you reserve your seat, please honor your commitment to attend, as a reserved seat that goes un-filled, is a seat someone else might have really appreciated sitting in but couldn’t because the event was considered sold out.

Thank you for your consideration.
